By now, you know the STORY of the Mother Letter Project. See the FAQs for more information.
On Wednesdays, I’d like to share letters that I find particularly moving. This week, I received my first letter from a man! I thought it might be a good word of encouragement for you mothers out there who wonder what we men think when we leave the house.
Dear Mother (of my son),
Day after day, I walk out the door in the morning. I entrust you with the joy of my life. His day is filled with your presence, his mind with your voice, his heart with your love. I trust you completely.
Day after day, I walk out the door in the morning. I lay my parenting duties aside, becoming that other person I am while I’m gone. I leave the day to you, to teach and guide and nourish. To scream and weep and fume. To dance and sing and laugh out loud. I trust you completely.
Day after day, I walk out the door in the morning, thanking God for the mother you are. I delight with Him in your determination. I take joy with Him in your understanding. I rejoice with Him in your love. I trust you completely.
Day after day, I walk out the door in the morning, and I trust you completely.
I always will.
John
LETTER AND PLEDGE UPDATE:
So far, we have received 24 letters or commitments, and 15 pledges. Not bad for a little over 1 week’s work. Let’s keep moving!
Have fun and be encouraged. Remember, it may not be Christmas, but it is Mother’s Day!

Very encouraging. We Moms can never hear enough from our hubbies that they think we’re doing a good job.
